Did Kanye West Tweet This Naked Photo Of Kim ...

did Kanye West Tweet This Naked Photo Of Kim Kardashian? Posted by Carlie 14 June, 2012 – 9:25 AM

(Twitter.com/amiamiley)

Word on the information super highway is that after tweeting the above photo Kanye quickly pulled it down, leading everyone to believe it was in fact Kim.

His reps have denied reports, saying they are ‘laughable’.

“This is obviously the desperate, sad act of someone seeking to gain media exposure by exploiting Kanye’s notoriety. Kanye doesn’t even know this person, has never seen this picture, and hasn’t been on his Twitter account for a day. It’s a shame that in our media culture, the rampant spread of this kind of irresponsible ‘reporting’ occurs with such regularity and with such impunity.”

The woman almost showing eating her breakfast in the photo is actually porn star Amia Miley. Easy mistake to make, eh?

MPACaseMaker packs a BlackBerry PlayBook, scanner, ...

WOW! 3 comments and 2 of them already pointing out flaws with “printing” and somebody calling it a “fake”! Lighten up boys!!!

@1.47: ok… “Prining” instead of “Printing”… honest mistake, probably by someone who made the video. and you are worried about the company? what about the fact that they are able to PRINT from a Playbook using the USB port, and that perhaps that technology will become available to all users in the future? it would definitely be cool to add some printer drivers and allow the Playbook to drive a printer don’t you think? tell me how they solved that one!

@0.09: So you think they are using a “fake” 2/3 size Playbook? really? Maybe the video *IS* stretched. Unstretch it and see if the case looks more proportional. Maybe again it’s the person doing the video, who stuck in a SQUARE image into a 4:3 or 16:9 format video and instead of cropping it, had it squish in!

Here is the original image, have a look:

Apple Cuts Pricing on Refurbished Original iPad ...

My iPhone 3g was rendered practically useless after ios4 was installed. Not making that mistake again! if apple seriously think that it's acceptable for upgrades to be offered on hardware that doesn't really support the upgrade that's pushed at them via iTunes, only for users to find out later that their device just crawls along, then they overestimate loyalty…

I agree. same thing happened to my iPhone 3g, and it REALLY TICKED ME OFF!! I could barely text after those last updates, not to mention the wifi suddenly stopped working. I did the $49 upgrade to the iPhone 3gs which I still have, and am going to stop doing the updates now out of fear that they want to suck some more money out of me. the iPad2 seems to have enough horse power to play the iOS upgrade game for a while more. maybe get it to 6 plus a few minor updates then test the waters from there. they don't make billions in revenue by making things last, that's for sure. planned obsolence in full effect my friends!!!

Apple Gets Another Chance To Ban Samsung’s ...

Michael Harper for RedOrbit.com

Proview may not be the only company seeking to ban the sale of another company’s tablets. Just as the two companies have been told to pare down their complaints against one another, Apple has been granted another chance to have the Samsung Galaxy Tab banned in the United States.

A US Federal Appeals Court  said that Judge Lucy Koh of the lower district court in California made a mistake by saying Apple’s patent violation claims wouldn’t hold up in court. The Appeals Court is also suggesting a ban on the Galaxy Tabs should be imposed until a trial can be held.

“The district court has not determined the extent to which Samsung would be harmed if the sales of Galaxy Tab 10.1 were [banned], and how the potential harm to Samsung resulting from entering an injunction compares to the potential harm to Apple should the district court deny interim relief,” reads the court’s decision.

“Nor has the district court evaluated the public interest at stake with respect to the sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1.”

As for why the Appeals Court didn’t make this decision themselves the first time, “It is normally not appropriate for this court to make such highly factual inquiries for the first time on appeal,” it said.

California district Judge Koh ruled against Apple’s preliminary injunction against the Galaxy Tab 10.1, as well as three other products, back in December. most recently, Judge Koh has told both Apple and Samsung to slim down their charges against one another before they enter into her courtroom.

Judge Koh has also asked the CEOs of the two tech giants to meet with one another in an attempt to settle as much as they can between themselves before going into court.

Apple started this fight last year when they claimed Samsung had “slavishly” copied Apple’s designs, particularly that of the iPad. Returning fire, Samsung then countersued Apple for infringing on networking patents. Now, the two companies have been fighting for over a year about more than 50 patent issues in 10 different countries, according to CNET.

In a statement acquired by PCMag.com, Samsung continues to claim Apple’s demands for an injunction “lack merit.”

“Samsung intends to oppose vigorously any further effort by Apple to obtain a preliminary injunction in the US District Court for the Northern District of California,” a Samsung spokeswoman said. “We look forward to a full trial on the merits of Apple’s claims in July before the District Court for the Northern District of California.”

“Samsung will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property to ensure our continued innovation and growth in the mobile communication business,” Samsung continued. “We continue to serve our customers and sales of Samsung products will proceed as usual.”

Apple has once succeeded in banning the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany last year. in order to get around this ban, Samsung released a new version of the tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, which featured a larger bezel on the front of the device.

Should Apple succeed in having the Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned stateside, it’s likely Samsung could pull a similar move to get around the court’s decision.

Get an HDMI cable for $3 (or less)

Buying an Apple TV or Roku box? A Blu-ray player? A $99 Xbox 360? These and other TV-centric devices have one thing in common: they don’t come with the HDMI cables necessary for the optimal connection to your TV.

Shoppers often make the mistake of assuming that whatever the local electronics store charges for an HDMI cable is just the price you have to pay. But although retail prices have come down in recent years, they’re still way higher than what you can find online.

For example, best Buy charges $24.99 for a Dynex 6-foot HDMI cable. But shop around online and you can find the equivalent for one-tenth the cost. Literally.

In fact, check this out: Amazon carries the DVI Gear 6-foot HDMI cable for $1.87 shipped. (Note: as of this writing, the cable is in stock and sold by Importer520. If they run out, you may see a different vendor — and a slightly different price — for the same cable. this isn’t a bait-and-switch; it’s just how Amazon handles third-party inventory of certain products.)

At that price, I’d grab a few — one for whatever new gadget you’re buying (or gifting) now, and a couple for the gadgets you’ll inevitably get down the road.

By the way, this is just one cheap-HDMI-cable deal of many. Search Ebay for “6 foot HDMI cable” and you’ll find an almost endless number of them for less than $3 shipped.

Meanwhile, Meritline routinely offers similar deals, like this 6-foot HDMI cable for $2.99 shipped. (I know many readers have mad love for Monoprice, but I couldn’t find anything there for less than $4 shipped. which, of course, is still a fantastic price relative to what you’ll pay in stores.)

Ah, but are these cheapies any good? Surely there must be some difference between a $2 cable and a $20 cable? Allow me to share my personal experience: in recent years I’ve purchased at least a dozen dirt-cheap, no-brand HDMI cables, and every single one has worked flawlessly.

And you don’t have to take my word for it. Last year CNET reported on this very subject, calling expensive HDMI cables “a rip-off” and explaining why all HDMI cables are the same.

Needless to say, if you have any related thoughts or experiences to share, hit the comments and share them!

Bonus deal: Yowza. Even better than yesterday’stablet deal, 1SaleADay has the refurbished Toshiba Thrive 10.1-inch Android tablet for $229.99 shipped. Specs include a dual-core processor, 16GB of storage (yesterday’s tab had just 8GB), dual cameras, andAndroid 3.2. That’s pretty amazing.

Cheapin’ it real.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 – Online Price $309 For ...

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with 7 inch screen is shown online with the price tag of 309 $ or translated in Euros about 235 E, at least at current change rates. This is the base model and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 brings 8 GB of internal memory with no cellular connectivity, you can see it on QVC web store where it is listed.

We are not sure if this announcement is legit or it was posted by mistake but it is interesting that this is not the pre-order page. It appears that the device can be purchased and should be shipped to your doorstep within several days.

We saw some strange tactics and strange places for some tablet devices launching and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 might really come though QVC web store but have in mind that this is not yet confirmed.

Just few days ago there were reports that said this tablet device will be delayed because Samsung needed to work little more on a software so this might be an mistake. Also strange is that Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 specifications that were provided here are more similar to Plus version so we will keep and eye on this device and its launch.

Windows 8 tablets aren’t about being an iPad ...

Windows 8 running on a SoC tablet

One of the more irritating traits about the whole tech industry is the never-ending hot air posts that are written about how the new Product A is going to kill the older Product B, or not depending on the writer’s biases.

Of course when it comes to biases in the tech blogosphere none is bigger than the bias against Microsoft, and anything it does. the so-called discussion going on around Windows 8 and the tablet PC form factor is a good example of that.

It’s understandable of course that the most common negative point regarding this new interface is that it includes the “standard” Windows desktop interface as well as the new Metro-fied interface. the consensus is that Microsoft is making a big mistake by including the standard Desktop interface, they should make the tablet a strictly Metro user interface say the pundits; much like this post from the Next Web:

Honestly the best thing that Microsoft could do for itself here is to limit the appearance of the Desktop app at all to a special subset of tablets. Call them ‘Windows 8 Pro’ or whatever you must, but keep them out of the hands, and more importantly, the minds of the majority of consumers.

This is understandable given that for the past year and a half we have only had the iPad as the tablet gold standard to go by. there is no denying that the iPad is a gorgeous piece of hardware and user experience but as the Android versions of the tablet PC have shown it is not the only one. yet the idea that users should be restricted to a narrow scope of usage ala the iPad philosophy is shortsighted.

The Windows 8 tablet isn’t about competing with the iPad, or even Android tablets, but it is all about providing a viable alternative to those two. just as there are usage cases for the restrictive user interface of the iPad, and less so Android, there is also an even larger usage case for what Microsoft is proposing; or at least what we think they are proposing.

As Steven Sinofsky pointed out at this year’s Build keynote there are expected to be some 400 million Windows 8 users and even if only 10% of them want a full featured Windows 8 experience on a tablet PC form factor Microsoft would be stupid not to make that available. That is 40 million users who for whatever reason didn’t want to use an iPad or Android tablet.

Say what you will but a bare minimum percentage of 10% of the larger Windows market; many of whom would probably already own a Windows machine of one type or another, that still puts it at more than the 15 million that Apple sold of the iPad2 by March of 2011 (one should note that Apple has reportedly cut back on its fourth quarter order of iPads by 25%).

Microsoft doesn’t need to compete with Apple, that is just the dreamy-eyed wishful thinking of tech pundits. what Microsoft does need to do is to make sure that their vision of the future of personal computing does its very best to appeal to its already existing userbase. by ignoring the desktop on the tablet PC form factor they would be doing a very large segment of their customers a disservice.

As Chase Razabdouski at Examiner.com writes:

Microsoft has an ace in the hole here.  Windows 8 isn’t an attempt to compete with iOS and Android Honeycomb.  instead, it is a fundamental change in course responding to both the immediate and future demands of computing.  let us remember that Windows 8 is a full-blown OS being introduced into the touch-market, not a feature-limited OS scale-down for convenient use on less powerful devices… ahem, iPad.

This isn’t about competing. This is about providing a viable alternative and the only thing left is to see if Microsoft has created a compelling enough alternative to the iPad.

Windows 8 tablets aren’t about being an iPad killer. It’s about choice.
