Dell Streak 7 Tablet Is The Woot Deal Of The Day

The Woot deal of the day is one that anyone looking for a low priced Android tablet may be interested in. the tablet is of the 7-inch variety, more specifically, the tablet is the Dell Streak 7. And sure, we suspect this is far from everyones favorite tablet, however Woot has this available in a Wi-Fi only as well as a T-Mobile connected model.

And even nicer, the price is pretty low. the Wi-Fi only model is selling for $149.99 and the Wi-Fi + 3G model is selling for $199.99. of course, as we always see with Woot, you will need to add in an additional $5 for shipping.

Otherwise, we should point out that these are refurbished models. in terms of the features, the Streak 7 has a 7-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen display along with a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 16GB of storage, a memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS, a 2780 mAh battery, front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and a rear-facing 5 megapixel camera with flash.

In terms of Android, the Streak 7 is running 3.2 Honeycomb and we are fairly certain that it will never see Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. well, not officially anyway. as far as the T-Mobile connected model goes, that will run on the HSPA+ network which will mean an extra monthly expense, however given these are coming from Woot — that will be a month-to-month agreement with T-Mobile.

Bottom line here, while we would normally have a hard time suggesting the Dell Streak 7 to anyone at this point in time — it is sort of tempting when you are looking at prices of $199.99 or $149.99. Heck, the Wi-Fi only model for $149.99 would make for a rather nice Android running ereader if you were looking for something along those lines and wanted to avoid the NOOK or Kindle Fire. all said and done, this is a purchase we could most likely be happy with.

Motorola XOOM speaker dock now on woot.com for $20

The original Motorola XOOM is old as far as “tablet years” go, but there are still plenty of them out there. One of the benefits of having older devices is that accessories are often much cheaper, at least if you can still find them. I’ve used that fact for my own benefits several times, and the dock I currently have for my Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus is actually a dock for the original Tab that I grabbed from a sellout similar to what’s currently on woot.com.

The XOOM speakerdock is going for $20 right now, which is a nice $50 off the original MSRP. this isn’t just an overpriced piece of molded plastic either, as it’s a powered speaker dock that should add a bit of thump to video watching on the device. There’s also HDMI output in the back, which makes this a great dock for using the XOOM as a media player for a larger screen. At $20 it’s a steal, so if you have an original XOOM, you might just want to jump on this one.

Woot selling refurbished WiFi and 4G Dell Streak ...

If you're interested in picking up a Dell Streak 7 on the cheap, Woot has the deal for you today. the online retailer is selling both WiFi and 4G Dell Streak 7 models for $139.99 and $179.99, respectively. Shipping for either version is just $5, as well.

Keep in mind that these are refurbished models, but those are some very good prices considering what the Streak 7 packs inside. I'm even thinking of buying one; although I currently have a Streak 7, it suffered from a tumble onto concrete. I'd like to be able to tell you that its Gorilla Glass made it through okay, but my sliced finger reminds me that it didn't. It still runs perfectly, though!

Remember, Woot's deals only last one day, so if you want one, click the appropriate source link below and get your order in. let us know if you jump on the deal and which one you purchase!

if you’re not done with your Christmas shopping yet then Woot has a deal for you. Woot has the Toshiba Thrive 10″ Android tablet on sale today for $290.

This is Toshiba’s flagship tablet, and it’s running Android v3.1 Homey comb on a dual core 1GHz Tegra2 CPU. It has a pair of cameras (5MP and 2MP), a high resolution 10″ screen (1280 x 800), 16GB Flash storage, mike/speakers, a g-sensor, and an ambient light sensor.

This tablet normally retails for $380, and Woot has it for $290. of course, the unit sold by Woot is a refurbished model, and it only comes with a 90 day warranty. but that’s still a decent discount. if I didn’t already have a 10″ tablet, I would seriously consider getting this one.

Refurbished Motorola Xoom tablets may still have ...

A batch of refurbished Motorola Xoom tablets sold last year weren’t quite as good as new. Motorola has confirmed that some of the tablets it sent to Woot weren’t refurbished properly to erase old user data, meaning that the new users could still see things like account information or photographs. Fortunately, the problem isn’t widespread: of the 6,200 refurbished tablets sold on Woot between September 29 and December 4 of 2011, only about 100 may not have been completely wiped.

If you bought one of these refurbished tablets, or returned a new one that might have been resold, Motorola has created a program to help. For users who returned tablets, the company is offering free two-year credit monitoring through Experian. It’s also trying to track down and wipe the devices — people who bought an affected Xoom through Woot can send it back for refurbishing and receive a $100 gift card. obviously this was a misstep by Motorola, but we’re glad to see the company responding proactively now that the problem has come to light.
